The Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood & Supreme National Committee for Drug Prevention discuss cooperation

Rym Abdullah Al Falasy, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Col. Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Al Dabal, Chairman of the Supreme National Committee for Drug Prevention, have discussed ways of mutual cooperation, the exchange of experiences and community prevention efforts to combat the dangers of drugs, as well as supporting the national drug prevention efforts.



The meeting was attended by Dr. Laila Al Hayas, Head of the Prevention Team at the Supreme National Committee for Drug Prevention, along with First Lt. Ahmed Zayed Al Busaidi and Saleh Al Hammadi, who are also from the Committee. The meeting was also attended by Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Specialist in Communication and Public Relations at the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.



At the beginning of the meeting, Al Falasy praised the efforts of the Supreme National Committee for Drug Prevention and its role in promoting a preventive culture in the community. She also stressed the importance of mutual cooperation in establishing their desired goals, to protect the community from the dangers of drugs.



She highlighted the dangers of drugs and its negative effects on the cohesion of the community, adding that civil society organizations must contribute to this preventive role. She also praised the efforts of the UAE Anti-Narcotics Council, chaired by Lt. General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police and General Security, and highlighted the support of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood for the national efforts to combat drugs.



Col. Al Dabal highlighted the activities of the Supreme National Committee for Drug Prevention, which is one of the committees of the UAE Anti-Narcotics Council, and spoke about its efforts to implement the directives of Lt. General Khalfan, including organizing lectures, seminars, programmes and initiatives.



He also highlighted the participation of the committee in international events and its role in preparing plans and training programmes, to raise the capacities of employees in the fight against drugs.



Dr. Al Hayas spoke about their rehabilitation programmes, the number of local drug addicts and their nationalities and age groups, as well as the number of drug dealers and the procedures being implemented to rehabilitate drug addicts and their re-integration into the community. She also stressed that their preventive efforts contributed greatly to reducing the demand for drugs among the youth while highlighting the role of the National Programme of Drug Prevention, "Siraj".



During the meeting, both parties agreed to activate mutual cooperation in the coming period as part of their future programmes and activities. Colonel Al Dabal also presented the commemorative shield of Siraj to Al Falasy.
