The Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood in cooperation with the National Service and Reserves in the Armed Forces organized a workshop entitled "Weaning Health" at the Garden of Umm Al-emirates in Abu Dhabi yesterday, in the presence of Dr. Moza Al Shehhi.
HE Al Reem Abdullah Al Falasi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, said that the workshop came under the guidance of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, President of the General Women's Union, the Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation and Chairperson of the Higher Council for Motherhood and Childhood. Al-Falasi explained that the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood is actively participating in this year-long campaign, where several workshops were held in the UAE to raise awareness and health education and encourage mothers to adopt healthy behaviors and patterns for themselves and their children. Shehhi thanked Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak for her support of the campaign, which helped attract many parties to support the campaign, stressing that the attention of the mother of the UAE to the health of children, adolescents and young people from the beginning aims to ensure a healthy future for them in the coming years.
She explained that the campaign began in January 2017 and 365 days throughout the year where it is talking about a different topic every month of the year, the first campaign of its kind that combines sports health.
She pointed out that the topics discussed in the campaign are in line with the agenda of the World Health Organization has been focused on topics related to the UAE community, pointing out that the month of January focused on the importance of the movement to reduce the chronic diseases and the month of February on healthy nutrition and health and the month of March to promote drinking water and now a month April focuses on mental health.
She said the campaign was discussing 12 topics in 12 months throughout the year, as well as sporting events and organizing several training workshops.
Dr. Moza Al Shehhi explained that the campaign is a means of delivering health awareness messages to members of the community, noting that the "Jadak Amana" campaign has sites on social media that offer questions and prizes to encourage people to participate.
The workshop was attended by students from various universities in the country and nurseries.
