The Supreme Council for Motherhood & Childhood launches an online webpage on mental health for adolescents
The Supreme Council for Motherhood & Childhood, in cooperation with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), announced the launch of a web page on its website for the mental health of adolescents, which comes in line with (the right to health), which was the theme and focus area that the country celebrated on the Emirati Children's Day this year.
This came during a press conference held at Expo 2020 Dubai in Fazaa Pavilion, in the presence of Her Excellency Rym bint Abdullah Al Falasy, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood & Childhood, representatives from the media and health institutions in the country, members of the UAE Parliament for the Child, Saeed Al Mutaiwei, several officials and the ambassador for adolescents to the (UNICEF).
Saeed Al-Mutaiwei gave a presentation on the webpage, in which he addressed a set of resources and steps that can be taken to deal with some of the difficulties faced by children and adolescents regarding mental health, as he reviewed guides, short educational videos, illustrated stories and pictures that address the individual's senses and guide him to self-stabilization and overcoming tensions and fears so that the child can enjoy mental health, and it makes him more able to control his feelings, emotions, desires and directing his behavior properly away from reactions and abnormal responses.
Al-Mutaiwei presented the mental health webpage, in which he addressed a set of resources and actions that can be taken to overcome some mental health issues faced by children and adolescents. He also reviewed guides, short educational videos, illustrated stories and pictures that address the individual’s senses to overcome tensions, fears and support the achievement of a healthy and tranquil state of mind, and direct properly adjust and direct behavior away from ill-considered responses.
He also presented his agenda as an adolescent ambassador, which focused on collaborating with key partners on the injury prevention campaign, which will provide helpful information needed to care for children and ensure their safety, adding to that several initiatives which includes bullying prevention, awareness raising, and the first 1000 days of the child’s life program which acts as a critical period on the child’s brain development and future.
