Al Mutaiwei, UNICEF Youth Ambassador
The Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and the Gulf Region Office of UNICEF announced the appointment of Saeed Omar Al Mutaiwei as an ambassador for adolescents. The appointment of Al Mutaiwei was announced during the ceremony organized by the UAE to celebrate International Children's Day, which was held this evening at Expo 2020 Dubai, in the presence of several ministers, senior officials, and members of the Emirati Children’s Parliament.
On this occasion, Her Excellency Rym bint Abdulla Al Falasy, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, said that the selection of Saeed Al Mutaiwei as an ambassador for adolescents of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) bears evidence of the distinguished and pioneering role played by the UAE and its empowerment of children and its commitment to raising the future generation and preparing it to follow the path of sustainable development that the state witnesses it in various fields so that they can be an active element in society and pave the way for them to be responsible in various positions. She confirmed that the state efforts lead to appointing a member of the Children's Advisory Council and a member of the Emirati Children’s Parliament to be an ambassador for the most important international organizations, his mission is to convey the voice of children and adolescents to decision-makers, and he actively contributes to ensuring that the child obtains all his rights. The Secretary-General expressed her pride in this appointment, which came in light of the efforts made by Al Mutaiwei over the past years, during his membership of the Children's Advisory Council and his membership in the Emirati Children’s Parliament.
