The Supreme Council for Motherhood & Childhood celebrates Flag Day
In honor of the anniversary of the accession of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and as part of the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai to commemorate November 3 as an annual national occasion to celebrate the UAE flag.
The Supreme Council of Motherhood & Childhood celebrated UAE Flag Day at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi in the presence of H.E Rym bint Abdullah Al Falasy, Secretary-General of the Council.
Saif Al Owais and Wadima Al Darmaki, members of the Emirati Children’s Parliament, raised the UAE flag where all precautionary measures were adhered due to the exceptional circumstances associated with Covid-19 pandemic.
H.E Rym Al Falasy said that this national occasion to consolidate national identity and transcends the notion of unity. It is a day that bolsters loyalty, and a sense of belonging to the nation, and hails the country’s wise leadership.
And H.E added that the participation of the two members of the Emirati Children’s Parliament came to reinforce the "right of participation for children."
She emphasized on the role of the child in the United Arab Emirates and his active participation in making change and decision-making, and in implementation of the fourth goal that came within the National Strategy for Motherhood and Childhood 2017-2021, which aims to "enhance the true participation of children and adolescents in all fields”.
