My Child’s Seat campaign

The Supreme Council for Motherhood & Childhood , in cooperation with Ministry of Interior, Abu Dhabi Police, Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, Saaed Association and the Emirates Motorsports Organization, launched “My Child’s Seat” initiative; providing car seats for children to protect them from traffic accidents.

 

H.E. Rym Abdulla Al Falasy – Secretary General of The Supreme Council for Motherhood & Childhood – said that this initiative instigated following the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak - Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood & Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation – as part of all humanitarian initiatives launched by Her Highness, in parallel with the vision of UAE’s leadership for the “Year of giving – 2017”.

 

H.E. confirmed that this campaign also falls within the scope of supporting the Mother of the Nation’s declaration for the 15th of March to be Emirati Children's Day, which was announced early August 2017, aiming to extend efforts to protect our children and provide them with comprehensive care.

 

H.E. explained that this initiative is aimed to encourage mothers, fathers and family members to donate car seats; In addition to using these seats in the proper manner when needed and donating them once they no longer need them.

 

She also called on donors to participate in the success of this campaign, which aims to care for our children and protect them from the harms of traffic accidents and road hazards; as well as enforcing the regulation issued by Ministry of Interior regarding using children’s seats to keep children safe from the dangers of traffic accidents.

 

The council identified the centers participating in and receiving donated child seats for the campaign as follows: General Women’s Union – Abu Dhabi, Dubai Women’s Association, Women’s Union – Sharjah, Al Nahda Women’s Association – Ras Al Khaimah, Center for Community Development – Fujairah, Women’s Association of Umm Al Quwain and Umm Al Moumineen Association – Ajman.
